Education in Sweden:

Universities and university colleges in Sweden offer a wide range of courses and study programmes where the language of instruction is English.

Applying Online:

When applying to study in Sweden, you may choose to apply for self-contained courses or full study programmes.

You can search and apply for courses and study programmes at first cycle (undergraduate) and second cycle (master's)on this website. For third cycle studies (doctoral), click on the tab 'Third cycle' at the top of this page.

One application:

Sweden has a pooled admissions system; you can apply for multiple courses and study programmes offered at different universities all on the same application.

Application deadlines:

Students applying for international courses and programmes in English at the first cycle (undergraduate) and/or second cycle (Mater's) level have a deadline of 15 January for autumn semester studies and 15 August for spring semester studies.

Application and tuition fees:

Beginning with the autumn semester 2011, Sweden will be introducing application and tuition fees for some international students who apply for courses and programmes at universities and university colleges. Visa/residence permit requirements:

Nationals of member states of the European Economic Area (EEA) and Switzerland do not need a residence permit to study in Sweden. However,  nationals of non-EEA countries must apply for a residence permit for studies.
